The US Department of Education (ED) provided clarification about the temporary federal aid pause. The department confirmed that no grants or loans would be paused or delayed. At this time, Relay’s Student Financial Services team continues to review all Direct loan and TEACH grant applications. The spring term disbursement is scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2025. Instructional Role, Placement & Relay Partners

An instructional role is a role within a school teaching PK-12 students, including but not limited to lead teacher, teacher of record, or teacher-in-residence.

In order to enroll at Relay, you must be hired by one of our school partners in an instructional role that aligns with your Relay program. For example, if you are applying to enroll in the Relay Teaching Residency (click here for a description of the Residency), you must be hired into a role of a "teacher-in-residence."

You will have to initiate self-placement by independently searching and securing a job placement with one of the school district partners.  A list of school partners can be found on each state location page.

Below you'll find several resources designed to guide you to find the school and role that best fits your career and graduate program.

Guide to obtaining Program-Aligned Instructional Roles

Interview Preparation

Before interviewing with Relay's school partners, students should practice responses to possible questions and a sample teaching scenario. You can practice with family, friends, or utilize the career services or alumni affairs office at your undergraduate college and/or university. Learn even more about interview preparation in this interview guide.

New Partner Process

If you have secured a program-aligned instructional role with a partner school, district, or network not currently listed on their location page, you may email [email protected]. The Partnerships team will reach out to the school, district, or network to share more about Relay's programs and requirements.

If you'd like to share more with your school about partnering with Relay, please share this information.
