The US Department of Education (ED) provided clarification about the temporary federal aid pause. The department confirmed that no grants or loans would be paused or delayed. At this time, Relay’s Student Financial Services team continues to review all Direct loan and TEACH grant applications. You can apply for federal loans with Relay here. Please contact us at support@relay.edu if you have any questions.
Securing an Instructional Role
print icon

An instructional role is a role within a school teaching PK-12 students, including but not limited to lead teacher, teacher of record, or teacher-in-residence (Resident).

In order to enroll at Relay, you must be hired by one of our school partners in an instructional role that aligns with your Relay program. For example, if you are applying to enroll in the Relay Teaching Residency (click here for a description of the Residency), you must be hired into a role of a "teacher-in-residence."

A list of school partners, organized by state, can be found here. A list of current vacancies shared by our partners can be found here. If you don’t currently have an instructional role, we urge you to use these lists and begin applying for roles that align with your program and career goals. Below you'll find additional resources designed to guide you to find the school and role that are the best fit for you.

Guide to Obtaining Program-Aligned Instructional Roles

Interview Preparation

Before interviewing with Relay's school partners, students should practice responses to possible questions and a sample teaching scenario. You can practice with family, friends, or utilize the career services or alumni affairs office at your undergraduate college and/or university. Learn even more about interview preparation in this interview guide.
