How do I forward emails from this inbox to another account?

You can create an email forwarding address so incoming mail goes to a different email account such as Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail. For directions on email forwarding, see Email Forwarding.

My workplace also uses Office 365. What's the best way to access my Relay account?

If you're signed in to a different Microsoft Office 365 account, you'll need to log out of your account before access your Relay email account through your login page at https://myapps.microsoft.com/

If you're clicking through to your Office 365 account directly from Canvas, you'll also need to make sure you're logged out of your other account before trying to access your Relay email.

Since Microsoft Office 365 doesn't currently allow more than one active login, some students have found it helpful to use one browser for their work email (e.g., Firefox) and another to access Relay accounts (e.g., Chrome).

Can I change the name in my email address?

Yes. Relay uses the Preferred First and Last names of students that are currently in our official student information system to generate email addresses. Students should complete the Student Update Form to request a name change for your student account. Please be sure to indicate that you would like your email address updated to reflect your preferred/legal name. Students can find the form on their status page in the student support tab on the status page. If you are having difficulty accessing your status page, please reach out to [email protected] for technical support.

How do I add my Relay email to my mobile devices?

Outlook O365 offers apps for Android and iPhone, which you can download to your phone and/or tablets. You will be prompted to sign in to your Relay portal to verify your identity.

Do I need to install anything on my laptop?

No. You don't need to install Office 365, you can simply access it using your browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, or Safari). Just go to https://myapps.microsoft.com/ and log in using your Relay email.

If you have a Windows computer with the Outlook program on your desktop and would prefer to use it, you can add your Relay account by following these directions.

Am I required to use my Relay-issued email account?

Yes. Relay will send all communication to your Relay-issued account, so it is very important you check it regularly. However, you can forward the emails to a preferred or personal email account using the instructions here.

I forgot my password or would like to change my password. How do I change it?

See this article for password recovery and reset details.

Who can I contact if I need support?

You can access Microsoft support and knowledge center here, or you can contact [email protected] if your account is blocked, or you have a hard time setting your email password.

What training is available to learn how to use Outlook in O365?

There are detailed resources in the Microsoft Training Center. We recommend starting with this article.

Will my Relay email account work with the version of Microsoft Office that is already on my computer?

Yes, it will. O365 is backward compatible with all versions of Office that may be currently installed on your computer, including Office 2013 and 2016.

How much storage comes with my account?

The available quota is 50GB. We are confident this will be more than enough for your needs. If you run out of space, please email [email protected]

Can I use this email for deals and discounts available to those with a “.edu” email address?

Yes, please! See here for an example of some available benefits for students with a .edu account. You only need to be aware of acceptable usability policies as reflected in the user agreement.
