In the Awards & Scholarships form, you will be asked to input any external scholarships or awards you received and include the amount.

Nearly all students at Relay receive institutional aid. This allows Relay to make your tuition more affordable for you. Please tell us about scholarships and awards that you have (or are currently) earning from other (non-Relay) organizations, so we can ensure that we’re able to provide you with the best options of Relay scholarships for which you’re eligible. Please note, any external scholarships or awards may lower your financial aid offer during review or upon release to Relay. 

For Awards or Scholarships, including Teach for America (TFA):

TFA corps members who have already received a Segal Award prior to entering Relay should respond "Yes". 

TFA corps members who are going to earn one at the end of the upcoming academic year should respond "No".

Then you’ll let us know if you’ve served in an AmeriCorps program before summer 2024. TFA corps members who have not previously served as AmeriCorps members should answer "No".

Note: The FAFSA and TEACH Grant processes are external to the Relay application. While highly recommended, they are not required in order to fill out the Awards & Scholarships form.  Please submit this form with your current awards and/or scholarships. Any awards via the FAFSA will be reported to Relay once you are enrolled.

Veteran Status

• Next, the form asks about your veteran status.  Are you an active duty, veteran, or dependent/spouse of an active duty service member or veteran?  If yes: 

  • All Relay programming will be online for the school year 2024-2025 and we are currently working to gain re-authorization for our Veteran’s Benefits that aligns to this programmatic change.  While re-authorization is not guaranteed for any or all of these programs, Relay has historically been approved to certify Veteran's benefits for matriculated students enrolled in the following programs after the census date of each term:

    • Baton Rouge Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
    • San Antonio Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
    • New York Advanced Certification in Special Education (ACSPED)
    • New York Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
    • New Orleans Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
    • Nashville Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
    • Memphis Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
    • Houston Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
    • Denver Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) 
    • Dallas-Ft. Worth Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
    • Chicago Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

  • If you are eligible for VA Benefits and once your program has been re-authorized through Veterans Affairs, Relay will invite you to submit a benefits request form to Relay. Veterans Affairs may be able to answer questions directly around your eligibility and/or if retroactive benefits are available.  You may learn more about Veteran Benefits here.
