How much does tuition cost?

Tuition for the 2024–2025 school year is $850 per credit. Tuition for each term is determined by the total number of credits. You can find the total cost of attendance per program here.

I'm trying to budget my future expenses. What would a monthly breakdown be?

To estimate your future tuition expenses, please follow these instructions:

• Click here to find your academic plan based on the state you are located in

• Click on the drop-down arrow on the program you are applying for/accepted to

• Select your specific area of study

• Create a copy of your academic plan

You can use the academic plan to view the average number of credits students take per term in the program you are applying to/have been accepted to. 

For example, let’s say in your program the typical student will take 7 credits for the Fall 2024 term. 

• Multiply the average number of credits (7) by $850 to get the total estimated cost of the Fall 2024 term: $5,950

• Divide the total estimated cost of the term by the number of months in the term to get an estimate of your monthly tuition expenses (assuming no financial aid)

Do you offer payment plans? 

You can sign up for an automatic payment plan through Nelnet each semester and should consider your budget and monthly payment installment amount. Nelnet charges a non-refundable payment plan fee of $45 per automatic payment plan. Nelnet only allows you to set up a payment plan for the current term. If you need an extended payment plan, please contact Student Financial Services.

The terms are listed below with the total number of payment installments:

• Summer 2024: 3 installments

• Fall 2024: 4 installments

• Spring 2025: 4 installments

When will my first payment be due?

First year students will receive a Nelnet notification regarding their Summer term tuition bills during the Summer term with a Fall term due date. Fall term tuition bills will be sent at the end of the Summer term, after the registration period. Fall term bills will have a Fall term due date. The billing notification will provide instructions on how to view your Nelnet account and financial options to explore.

If you would like to sign up for a payment plan that covers balances for both terms, you will need to sign up for two separate payment plans; one for your Summer balance and one for your Fall balance. Both payment plans will run concurrently with the first payment installation due in September. 

Does Relay offer institutional need-based aid?

Institutional aid at Relay may include scholarships awarded based on financial need and can vary in amounts and availability by academic year. 

First-time, first-year students enrolled at least half-time are eligible to apply and must complete the FAFSA or Alternate FAFSA.

Students awarded an external scholarship, education award, school-based sponsorship, or other tuition payment support will not be eligible for a need-based aid award.

When can I apply for FAFSA? How can I apply for federal financial aid? 

Relay offers federal financial aid in the form of the Direct Unsubsidized Loan and the TEACH grant.

• If you are expecting to attend Relay’s M.A.T. or Advanced Certificate program(s) during the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year and are interested in applying for federal financial aid, you can begin the process by submitting the 2024-2025 FAFSA at https://fafsa.gov/ using Relay's school code 042086. 

• The TEACH and Direct Unsubsidized Loan applications and remaining required documents for the 2024-2025 school year will be available on May 17, 2024. 

When will I receive my financial aid offer?

All financial aid offers are sent to your Relay student email address. The financial aid offer will include a breakdown of tuition charges, financial aid, partner contribution details, and financial options to explore. 

• If you’re a second year/continuing student ,you will receive your financial aid offer before the start of the 2024-2025 academic year (end of May, early June). 

• If you’re a first-time, first-year incoming student, you will receive your financial aid offer within two weeks of signing your enrollment agreement.

How will earning an AmeriCorps award impact my tuition?

Incoming students are required to pay their tuition upfront with the understanding that they are working towards earning an educational award at the end of the academic year.

• The AmeriCorps Education Award is listed on your financial aid offer as an anticipated award.

• The AmeriCorps Education Award does not reduce your tuition due as it is not applied against charges. 

• The AmeriCorps award will not be reflected on your student statement.

What are my next steps if my employer is covering my tuition costs in full or partially?

Sponsoring organizations will inform Relay's Partnerships team regarding tuition contributions. 

• This amount will appear on your Nelnet account as ‘Anticipated Third Party Payment’.

• After a payment is received by Relay, your Nelnet account will be updated from “Anticipated Third Party Payment” to ‘Third Party Payment - [Sponsoring Organization Name]’.

• If a sponsorship organization withdraws coverage, students are financially responsible to resolve the tuition cost. 

Additionally, students who are a part of a Relay sponsoring organization may see ‘Relay GSE Partner Fund’ on their Nelnet account.

Please keep in mind that your partner’s contributions will not be reflected in your financial aid award offer. Once your partner has established a contract with Relay to make contributions towards your tuition, your Nelnet account will be updated.

¿Cuándo vencerá mi primer pago?

• Si espera asistir al M.A.T. o programa(s) de Certificado Avanzado durante el próximo año académico 2024-2025 y está interesado en solicitar ayuda financiera federal, puede comenzar el proceso presentando la FAFSA 2024-2025 en https://fafsa.gov/ utilizando el código escolar de Relay 042086.

• Las solicitudes de TEACH y Préstamo Directo No Subsidiado y los documentos restantes requeridos para el año escolar 2024-2025 estarán disponibles el 17 de mayo de 2024.

¿Cuándo recibiré mi oferta de ayuda financiera?

¿Cómo afectará mi matrícula la obtención de un premio de AmeriCorps?

Los estudiantes entrantes deben pagar su matrícula por adelantado en el entendido de que están trabajando para obtener un premio educativo al final del año académico.

• El Premio Educativo de AmeriCorps figura en su oferta de ayuda financiera como un premio anticipado.

• El premio de educación de AmeriCorps no reduce la matrícula adeudada ya que no se aplica a los cargos. 

• El premio de AmeriCorps no se refleja en su declaración de estudiante.

¿Cuáles son mis próximos pasos si mi empleador cubre los costos de matrícula total o parcialmente?

Las organizaciones patrocinadoras informarán al equipo de Asociaciones de Relay sobre las contribuciones a la matrícula.

• Este monto aparecerá en su cuenta de Nelnet como "Pago anticipado de terceros".

• Después de que Relay reciba un pago, su cuenta Nelnet se actualizará de "Pago anticipado de terceros" a "Pago de terceros - [Nombre de la organización patrocinadora]".

• Si una organización patrocinadora retira la cobertura, los estudiantes son financieramente responsables de resolver el costo de la matrícula.

Además, los estudiantes que forman parte de una organización patrocinadora de Relay pueden ver el "Fondo de socio de Relay GSE" en su cuenta de Nelnet.
