Admissions 2025 (for students applying to a 2025–26 Relay Teacher Program)
Summary:
-

Students are required to submit to Relay their official bachelor’s degree-conferred transcript to begin coursework.
 -

Students who are in the process of completing their bachelor’s degree coursework may be provisionally admitted to Relay pending receipt of their official bachelor’s degree conferred transcript.
 -

Once Relay has received and reviewed a student’s official bachelor’s degree-conferred transcript, a student can be registered for, and attend coursework.
 -

Students who do not satisfy their provisional admissions requirements by the deadline will have the opportunity to defer their admission to a future term.

-

For all applicants: Applicants to Relay Graduate School of Education are required to satisfy all requirements on their admissions checklists in order to enroll in Relay coursework.
 -

For applicants who have certain admissions requirements in-progress or outstanding at the time of admission: Applicants may be provisionally admitted to Relay.
-

Note: Applicants in the following states, who earned their bachelor’s degree outside of the United States may be eligible for provisional admissions if Relay has received the official course-by-course evaluation stating that a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution has been earned. These students would be provisionally admitted pending receipt of the official international transcript.

What is provisional admissions?: Provisional admissions refers to students who have been admitted provisionally to Relay, receiving and accepting an admissions offer with outstanding admissions requirements. While a student is provisionally admitted, certain academic and financial implications will apply. Once a student who was provisionally admitted has satisfied their outstanding provisional admissions items, they are considered fully admitted students at Relay and can register for coursework.
 -

Academic Implications:
-

Students who are Provisionally Admitted cannot be registered for coursework until they have provided Relay with their official, degree-conferred transcript. An official, degree-conferred transcript displays that a bachelor’s degree has been awarded by the institution, and includes the date the degree was conferred.
 -

Students who do not satisfy their in-progress or outstanding admissions requirements by the due date will be prompted to either defer their admission to a future term, or they will be administratively withdrawn from Relay.
 -

If the official degree-conferred transcript submitted by the student demonstrates a GPA that does not meet the admissions requirements for their program, the student may have their offer of admission rescinded.

 -

 -

Financial Implications: The following implications apply to all students who are provisionally admitted:
-

Federal Aid: Students provisionally admitted are not eligible for federal aid (i.e., federal unsubsidized direct loans and TEACH grants) until officially enrolled, matriculated, and attending courses. Providing that students are in a federal aid–eligible program, a student would become eligible for federal aid once they have satisfied their provisional admissions status.
 -

Loan Deferral Implications: Students are ineligible to receive in-school deferment for pre-existing student loans. Students in certification-only programs do not qualify for in-school loan deferment under any circumstances.
