ENGLISH

Students awarded the TEACH Grant agree to teach full-time for at least four years in a high-need field at a low-income elementary school, secondary school, or educational service agency post-graduation. Students who do not satisfy this requirement are at risk of having their grant converted to a direct loan.

Once the TEACH Grant is converted into a loan, it cannot be reversed.

If the grant is converted to a loan, students will be responsible for repaying the federal government the full amount plus all interest that would have accrued on the TEACH Grant funds at the time of disbursement..

  • For students who believe their TEACH grant has been converted to a loan in error, the Department of Education recommends they contact the Department's TEACH Grant servicer, Fedloan

  • If the issue is not resolved upon contact, students may contact the Federal Student Aid Ombudsman, a neutral and confidential resource to help resolve federal student aid disputes.
