Relay was granted a charter by the New York State Board of Regents in 2011, becoming the first stand-alone graduate school of education to emerge in the state in more than eight decades. 

Today, Relay is an accredited national nonprofit institution of higher education with 14,000 alumni of our teacher preparation programs and over 12,000 alumni of our leadership programs. Our offerings include master’s degrees and certification/licensure programs for teachers, teaching residencies, fellowships for principals and school leaders, and offerings for those interested in professional development, customized coaching and training, and continuing education.
