Opportunities to receive support to fulfill certification requirements after completing a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT).

Overview
Students who have completed their MAT program and still have outstanding certification requirements may reenroll in or transfer to a non-degree seeking non-matriculated offering in their location, if available. This offering will allow students to continue to pursue certification with support from Relay that is tailored to helping them meet their outstanding requirements. Students will be considered an Educator Preparation Program (EPP) program completer, effective at the end of the term in which students have completed their outstanding requirements.

The Curriculum
All Relay coursework will be available in this offering but not necessarily in every term. Due to the varying nature of certification requirements, students will be able to choose from coursework offered in that term. For a list of all courses, please refer to the Course Description section.

Program Information
To enter this offering, students must reenroll in Relay after completing their academic requirements in an MAT program, or transfer by the start of the upcoming term. All policies for reenrolling and transferring programs apply.

To remain in this offering, students must register for at least one course every term and if applicable, continue to meet all certification requirements.

The recommended timeline for this offering is between one and three terms; however, some students may benefit from a longer enrollment period. Students may take up to one inactive term during their participation in this offering, if needed. Students enrolled in this program are eligible to earn their award, and it will be considered as an EPP transfer.

The following students are not eligible to enroll in a non-degree seeking offering:

  • Students already enrolled in a certification-only program: These students will remain in that program to complete all requirements.

  • Students in New York: NY requires students to remain enrolled in their original program to complete all requirements, and they are ineligible to enroll in this program.

  • Students who were not enrolled in the EPP during their MAT program: Students who are interested in pursuing certification after completing their MAT program may reach out to [email protected] to determine if there is a program suitable to their goals.

Additionally, students in this program are not eligible for a leave of absence, nor are they eligible for loan deferral or federal financial aid.
